3 Keys for Success with Your Business

Some say the economy is sour, bad, declining. I go to restaurants and see the opposite. I see packed booths, bars that are overflowing with people, fun, and joy. What do you see? I choose to see opportunity rather than doom and gloom.

If you are a builder of dreams, of businesses, you must live in a different world than those who face dread and end up in their grave dead from stress. You must operate in a world of faith, persistence, and massive amounts of patience. In the face of a head wind, you must do it anyway. That is the quest of a serious business person, whether online of in the brick and mortar world. Are you operating with these three key components to success?

1. Faith
2. Persistence
3. Patience

Bob Proctor in his Six Minutes to Success series talks to faith. He says, “Faith is the ability to see the invisible, to believe in the incredible, and to receive the impossible.” Faith is not hoping without action.

You must believe in your ability, make a plan, and go forward with action. Even after you believe in the incredible, you must persist with your plan and actions. Those that succeed did not just happen into success in life or business simply by wishing. Luck did not shine on successful business people just because. No. You need to know that luck happens when you put yourself in the right spot to receive your luck.

Now, I have to be real. Sometimes… no many times, you will have faith in your ability, you will be able to see it in your mind, organize the details, and put it all down on paper. You will persist and begin down the road toward a successful business and find that it isn’t working. What do you do? Do you quit?

I heard something interesting a while back. In the wonderful book Acres of Diamonds it was said that a man had gone out in a field to find diamonds and missed it by only three feet. He gave up and drifted off, dejected and filled with depression. The next man came to the farm and shift his plan by three feet and found the diamonds the first man gave up on. This became one of the biggest diamond finds in the world. How much patience will you have?

Be committed to moving from what you see through faith, into the persistence of deploying your plan and actions, and then keep moving with the patience that you know it is to be for you and your business.

Success Anchors

Athletes can get red hot and have great games. When an athlete takes the field to compete, they can become the hero of the game. Those heroes of the game may wind up in some hall of fame somewhere. Then there are days on the playing field when thing do not go so well. They have a bad game, or go into a slump.

Like athletes, we can all have great games or great days. Just like the athlete who may be a hero one day, we can be that personal hero or we can go into a life slump and have to fight our way out of the slump. The important thing to remember with a slump, whether it is in sports, or on the playing field of life would be that you do not give those rare moments time to manifest into weights that drag you under.

Hank Aaron, one of the greatest hitters ever in baseball said this, “My motto was always to keep swinging. Whether I was in a slump or feeling badly or having trouble off the field, the only thing to do was keep swinging.” Like Hank Aaron, take minute to accept your bad day and then dismiss it and look toward lighter days and away from darker days.

When moments or days do not go so well, I use these perfect anchors to refocus. These are from the online book “Start Living Your Perfect Life” that I wrote while back.

PERFECT ANCHOR HOOK #1: AFFIRMATIONS.

To supercharge your subconscious mind we will feed it a series of positive statements to anchor your desires.

PERFECT ANCHOR HOOK #2: ATTITUDE.

Your attitude can lift you to a higher place in life or it can create a life of misery and depression. With a bad attitude, you become the grim reaper of your life.

You would think that boxing is a sport of strength. In 1939 Joe Louis fought for the heavyweight title. He had strength in his boxing prowess but the real strength was in his attitude. That was his secret weapon, his power.

PERFECT ANCHOR HOOK #3: PATIENCE.

One Keller Williams real estate agent I admire the most is Tim Wood. Tim is successful real estate agent in Big Bear California and has been in the business for over 27 years. He is a self-made millionaire many times over.

For years, I struggled with my own personal demon called patience. The trouble was I had none and it was affecting my outcome in life.

Reading Tim Wood’s keys to success I was smacked with some sage advice on succeeding. He said, “Most people who set out to become millionaires fail, not because they can’t do it, rather because they simply had no patience.” They could not put in the effort or time needed to realize their perfect life. Wow! There was my trouble and my answer.

I started the very day I read those words to practice better patience and see my perfect life through. You will need to do the same. Do it by using affirmation and by asking yourself this one question every time you think of quitting or giving up on your dreams.

PERFECT ANCHOR HOOK #4: DAILY ACTION.

The absolute secret to realizing your dreams starts and ends by taking action. Be willing to act every day and move closer to living your perfect life.

Finding Your Vein of Gold

As you go forward seeking out your success I want you to imagine you are standing just inside an old mine. Inside this mine lies your success. You aren’t exactly sure where your success is inside the mine, you are only aware that it lies down one of the veins inside this mine.

As you stand smack dab in the center of the mine you scan the openings of hundreds of veins. Each vein looks very similar. Your choices of travel are boundless. Which vein should you explore first? Which one holds your gold, your success?

Isn’t this much like seeking success in your life? You know it exists. You can feel it or visualize success. Yet, it’s not clear which vein inside the mine holds your success. What do you do? Do you throw up your hands and scream, “This is ridiculous! What a waste of time.” Do you roll up your sleeves, grab your flashlight, and begin searching each vein until your success is found?

I speculate that most would give up right there on the spot. They convince themselves, “It’s too hard. What if it’s not what I thought?” These are limiting thoughts that defeat you before you even explore. You are paralyzed, frozen in place, and trapped by your own mind at the center of your mine staring at veins of which one holds your gold, your true success. You really need to ask yourself a better question. Ask; how much do you want it?

Start down the first vein of the mine. You may turn up nothing. Then search the second, third, fiftieth, and thousandth if needed. If you believe and continue searching, seeking, and uncovering you will eventually find your success.

D.S. Jordan said, “Act brave. The world steps aside for the man who acts like he knows where his is going.”

My sincere question to you is this, “How bad to you want to find your success?” Do you want to wait, watch, and hope for success to come flying out of one of those dark veins in the mine or would you rather be active and take massive action? It is always your choice. I encourage you to choose to find your vein of gold that hold your success, your happiness.
