Finding Your Vein of Gold

As you go forward seeking out your success I want you to imagine you are standing just inside an old mine. Inside this mine lies your success. You aren’t exactly sure where your success is inside the mine, you are only aware that it lies down one of the veins inside this mine.

As you stand smack dab in the center of the mine you scan the openings of hundreds of veins. Each vein looks very similar. Your choices of travel are boundless. Which vein should you explore first? Which one holds your gold, your success?

Isn’t this much like seeking success in your life? You know it exists. You can feel it or visualize success. Yet, it’s not clear which vein inside the mine holds your success. What do you do? Do you throw up your hands and scream, “This is ridiculous! What a waste of time.” Do you roll up your sleeves, grab your flashlight, and begin searching each vein until your success is found?

I speculate that most would give up right there on the spot. They convince themselves, “It’s too hard. What if it’s not what I thought?” These are limiting thoughts that defeat you before you even explore. You are paralyzed, frozen in place, and trapped by your own mind at the center of your mine staring at veins of which one holds your gold, your true success. You really need to ask yourself a better question. Ask; how much do you want it?

Start down the first vein of the mine. You may turn up nothing. Then search the second, third, fiftieth, and thousandth if needed. If you believe and continue searching, seeking, and uncovering you will eventually find your success.

D.S. Jordan said, “Act brave. The world steps aside for the man who acts like he knows where his is going.”

My sincere question to you is this, “How bad to you want to find your success?” Do you want to wait, watch, and hope for success to come flying out of one of those dark veins in the mine or would you rather be active and take massive action? It is always your choice. I encourage you to choose to find your vein of gold that hold your success, your happiness.

Comfort Zones

We are all equipped with an internal thermostat. Our thermostat will tell us whether we are too warm, too cold, or feeling just right. When we reach the comfort zone of our thermostat, bad things can happen.

Inside our comfort zone we tend to go to sleep. When the paycheck is enough to pay the bills and take the family vacation our thermostat may indicate everything is just great. We are good. No need to adjust the temperature. No need to increase the heat or turn up the air conditioning.

Left unchecked for long our comfort zone may cook us right where we rest. We become lazy, lose motivation to take our lives to the next level. Staying stuck in a comfort zone can tend to keep us stuck. For some, stuck is just fine. I am not good with just fine. How about you?

What does your thermostat say about you? Have you gotten comfortable? Take some time to check your thermostat and adjust to continue growing. If you need to turn up the heat in order to make things happen, there is no better time then right now.

You’re the Pilot of your own Success

Daily Inspiration journal from WalkTheTalk.com published this interesting quote by Michael Altshuler, “The bad news is time flies. The good news is you’re the pilot.” I found this quote quite profound and actually began my mind turning and thinking.

If time flies and we are the pilot of our success destiny what happens when we allow continuous rejection to create drag on our persistence? If we allow rejects to drag us down, I believe the continuous drag on our ability to persist will affect our attitude. And if we are piloting our own success machine a negative attidude, left uncorrected, will leave our success machine crashed on the rocks of failure.

Seems pretty dire, even negative. I apologize for being a bit of the devils advocate to Michael’s quote. Truth is; if we read and internalize his powerful quote, we may be able to push past the rejections in life that stop us cold, or kill dreams, hopes, and our true destiny. Awareness is the key to success.

Michael Altshuler is a past contestant on American Gladiators. He bills himself as “A world class speaker, consummate professional, concerned citizen and civic leader, and achiever.” He is the CEO of Sales Quenchers and primed to help you build your sales career into all it can be. To maintain the persistence needed to support your attitude and fly you to your success try these three things.

1. Decide you have the controls of your success machine. Now go fly it!

2. Create affirmations that help you keep your attitude pointed in the right direction.

3. Know that reject will come. That’s all right. Fly right past it to your success destiny.
